On April 2, 1842…

…in a little corner of Piedmont called “San Giovanni di Riva” near Chieri”, a child was born to whom the parents gave the name Dominic.

After a simple life which he filled with love and sacrifice, Dominic went to meet God on March 9, 1857. Ile was not yet 15 years old. Don Bosco, another saint, whose pupil Dominic had been, wept with emotion as he wrote his short “Life,” which went around the world.

He is St Dominic Savio, whom the Christian world today knows as “the first boy saint” and “the saint of cradles.” During the “process of beatification,” 28 people (almost all companions and friends of Dominic) recounted under oath their memories of him, most of which Don Bosco did not know. In this book, alongside the “Life” written by Don Bosco and transcribed in today’s language, there are is new data, facts and figures that the 28 “sworn witnesses” recounted. The result is a wider and richer “Life” of the boy-saint, who always fascinates like a flower that miraculously blossomed in the poor human marshes.
