Description
God calls some young men to become priests or religious, that is, to spend their lives not forming of their own family but to give themselves to all people, especially to those most in need. Among them, the priest occupies the place that Jesus occupied and does what Jesus did: speaking of God the Father, bringing his forgiveness, helping men and women to come out of selfishness and sin to live in the joy of his grace. This ‘special call’ of God addressed to some is called the ‘priestly vocation or the vocation of special consecration.’ The considerations in this book on this type of vocation, addressed to priests and educators, are meant to be a small contribution to an important problem, felt the world over, where there is a shortage of vocations.
