CHRIST FOR ALL NATIONS

Description

The expression Ecclesia semper reformanda est is as true as the belief that the Church is One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic. The Gospel of Christ is so rich that it cannot simply be bottled up and restricted to a particular culture, and no culture can claim monopoly over the Gospel message. The Gospel message is sown in a wide variety of soils that it is able to imbibe whatever is good in the local culture and produce a manifold harvest (Gaudium et Spes 44). This can be done only through a sincere dialogue with the world, carried out in a reconciliatory atmosphere. The Church has aways, in its two thousand years of history, fostered mutual dialogue, and has shown a willingness to correct itself. The recent call of Pope Francis for a synodal Church will certainly open the doors for dialogical process and enable the faithful to contribute their best experiences to the Church and at the same time make the Church leaders humble enough to learn from the people.
