Jerome Vallabaraj SDB is a Salesian priest from Tamil Nadu, (India). He holds a Doctorate in Theology with Specialization in Catechetics and Youth Ministry from the Pontifical Salesian University (Rome). In the duration of his role as educator and animator, he was the Founder-Director of Deepagam, Don Bosco Catechetical Centre, (Chennai, India) from 1985 till 1992. He was also appointed as one of the two-member Central Youth Pastoral Team of the Salesians of Don Bosco, based in Rome, responsible for the sectors of Evangelization and Catechetics, and Salesian Youth Groups and Movements, for the period of 1996-2002. For more than a decade, he has been full-fledged Professor (Professor Ordinarius) of Catechetics in the Faculty of Sciences of Education in the Pontifical Salesian University, (Rome). Currently he lectures and resides at Don Bosco Theological Centre, (Kavarapettai, Tamil Nadu). His major publications include the following: Delving into the World of the Catechetical Education of Adults, Bengaluru, Kristu Jyoti Publications, 2008; Faith-focused Mentoring as a Paradigm for Youth Catechesis, Bengaluru, Kristu Jyoti Publications, 2012; Furthermore, he has co-authored with Professor Emilio Alberichsdb, Communicating a Faith that Transforms – A Handbook of Fundamental Catechetics, Bengaluru, Kristu Jyoti Publications, 2004; he has co-authored with Professors Emilio Alberich and Henri Derroitte, Les Fondamentaux de la catéchèse, Bruxelles, Coédition Novalis – Lumen Vitae, 2006; with SivyKoroth, Empowering through Animation – A Pastoral-Pedagogical Paradigm of Youth Ministry, Bengaluru, Kristu Jyoti Publications, 2010.
